Such A Brat

As previously posted, I returned to The Flying Saucer in the KC Power and Light District today. Beer is beer, meaning if it has hops, malted barley, water, and yeast... I'm drinking it. However, on the first visit the food left me wanting for something with actual flavor.

So today was more of food visit (wink).

I had the Bratwurst Plate. Two brats, with german potato salad and sauerkraut.

HELL YEAH!

Awesome brats. One was a spicey brat, the other a mild white brat. Delicious.

The sauerkraut was obviously slow cooked, slightly sweetened, and with chopped bacon... just like mom used to make.

The german potato salad was ok. I prefer german potato salad cold, not hot, but other than that the flavor was kind weak. Not enough of the vinegar flavor. If the Saucer ever decides to make it cold in addition to the cold American potato salad, then I'm sure it would outsell the warmed over stuff.

For beers, today I had a Chimey Trippel trappist ale and a couple of indescript lagers. I'm thinking the next time I go, I'll stick with just drinking the different trappist ales. Chimey Trippel was THAT good.
