The Saturday Night Playlist

You will notice, if you search through the older posts, that other Saturday Playlists posts (or the older Saturday Song posts) are not displaying the songs. That is because the RIAA and music industry is now cracking down on the music search engines who allow you to actually play the music you search for. Temporarily I've found a replacement. Not sure if Seeqpod will be back online at some point, or if the replacement I've found will be able to withstand the legal wrangling and harassment of the music nazi's

How appropriate then that tonights "playlist" will in fact be a single song... about freedom.

One band that people either love or hate (really no in between with these guys) write quite a few songs about freedom and liberty.

The best single example of this passion for choice from this band is Freewill.

Crazy people and their keepers... I give you Rush. Freewill.

DAMMIT... even this player doesn't work!

Well, here's a quote from Freewill by Rush.

There are those who think
That they were dealt a losing hand
The cards were stacked against them
They weren't born in Lotusland

All preordained
A prisoner in chains
A victim of venomous fate
Kicked in the face
You can't pray for a place
In heaven's unearthly estate

You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice
If you choose not to decide,
you still have made a choice
You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill
I will choose a path that's clear
I will choose freewill

EDIT... found some video of The Trees.

And here is the MONEY verse from The Trees.

You can pick who are the Oaks and who are the Maples.

The trouble with the maples,
(And they're quite convinced they're right)
They say the oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light.
But the oaks can't help their feelings
If they like the way they're made.
And they wonder why the maples
Can't be happy in their shade

DID IT YET ONCE AGAIN... sorry.

Here it is... the video for Freewill by RUSH. I love this song. It's everything I believe in, P>cramped into a 3 minute song. FREE WILL.

BTW.. can you see it on the horizon? It's getting closer.
